Rapidly growing Golden Malted® is hiring an experienced Customer Service Representative at our South Bend facility.  Our call center operates from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Some weekend and holidays coverage may be required to make sure our customers are being served. Current available shift is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

This is a non-exempt, full-time position with medical, dental, life, paid time off and 401k benefits.

We are the largest supplier of waffle mix in the United States for the best hotels, universities, restaurants and theme parks.   Golden Malted® Waffles are also enjoyed throughout the world. Our waffles are distributed to several countries including Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Greece, New Zealand, South Africa and Sweden.

Customer Service Representatives receive the Company’s incoming calls primarily from customers and sales representatives to assist with orders, service, shipping, accounting, cross selling, and general product information questions. Call information is documented in a Microsoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and followed up on to ensure all issues are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Take orders from customers and determine if product needs to be shipped or delivered by Sales Rep
  • Direct incoming Company calls to the appropriate person or department
  • Take purchase order numbers when required
  • Explain how our waffle programs work to potential new customers and enter any new leads into CRM
  • Make outbound sales and collection calls
  • Communicate with sales reps and provide any requested assistance to them
  • Provide various information to customers including invoice/statement copies, W9’s, and account balances
  • Assist customers with past due balances to reconcile account and take credit card or ACH payments
  • Sell the organization's products and/or services to established customers or new prospects via the telephone
  • Solicits and maintains contact with current and prospect accounts
  • Complete miscellaneous research, reports, emails, projects and tasks as requested

As a Customer Service Representative, you must be goal driven, extremely organized, able to multi-task, very detail oriented and possess a pleasant phone voice.

Required Experience/Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years customer service experience including some cash handling training
  • Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Microsoft CRM, shipping, collections, inside sales, and previous call center experience a plus

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
